The Queen Guide — Valheim's Mistlands Boss: Sealbreaker, Infested Citadel and the Fight

The Queen rules the Mistlands' endgame — a colossal insect monarch in her own citadel, and Valheim's sixth boss. The road to her is a dungeon crawl; the fight itself is the fastest and most aggressive encounter in the game to that point.

The road in: seal fragments and the Sealbreaker

The Queen is not summoned at a wilderness altar — she waits inside the Infested Citadel, the Mistlands' largest dungeon, deep in the mist and guarded by the biome's heaviest patrols.

Her chamber opens only with the Sealbreaker, a key crafted at a Galdr Table from seal fragments recovered in the Infested Mines — the Mistlands' standard dungeons. Expect a full tour of the mines to bank every fragment, and run them in your best Mistlands kit: soldiers and ticks in narrow tunnels punish greedy pulls, so clear rooms methodically and carry a portal kit for exit runs.

Pre-fight prep

• Carapace-tier armor and the best Mistlands weapons: the mistwalker sword, himmin aflj atgeir or refined eitr staffs all earn their slots.
• Serious food: the top HP/stamina trio for melee, top eitr foods for mages, plus major healing mead in bulk.
• Arena familiarity: the fight happens in a wide chamber with pillars and ledges. Learn the floor before you break the seal — dodging in a room you know roughly doubles your survivability.

The fight

1. Jump-slam chains: her signature — leaping ground slams that chain across the arena, each with a hard telegraph. Roll through the impacts; standing still between them is the most common death in the fight.
2. Charge: a straight-line rush across the floor. Sidestep at the last beat and punish the recovery turn.
3. Brood calls: she summons ticks that latch on for damage over time. Kill ticks on sight — never let the swarm bank up while your attention is on the boss.
4. Roar: a roar that calls more of the brood. Treat every roar as a new-wave announcement and reset your positioning to open ground.

The rhythm of the fight: move laterally at all times, roll slams on reaction, spend damage only during her recoveries, and assign someone (or something — skeletons and shield-work help) to tick control. Mages contribute shields and sustained eitr damage from the chamber's edges; melee lives roll-to-roll through the slam chains.

Rewards and the road to the Ashlands

The Queen drops her trophy and the materials that complete the Mistlands arsenal, plus her power for the battles ahead. With her fall the Mistlands tier is finished, and only the Ashlands' fire country remains — stock up on fire resistance, read the Fader guide, and sail south when the hold is full of potions.
